Artist's Description

This iconic marble sculpture adorns the final resting place of George Johnson Baldwin and Lucy Harvie Baldwin. The alcove surrounding it contains the verse from St. Mark 10:15: Verily I Say Unto You, Whosoever Shall Not Receive the Kingdom of God As a Little Child, He Shall Not Enter Therein. In Christian iconography the seashell, and more specifically the scallop, is a symbol for Baptism.
