Description
According to the Gullah-Geechee folk traditions, the original Haint Blue creators were descendants of African slaves who worked on rice plantations in South Carolina and Georgia. Haints, or haunts, cannot cross water, so the Gullah-Geechee people would paint haint blue around every opening into their homes to prevent the spirits from entering.
