Description
The First African Baptist Church was established in 1893 for the African American workers living in The Settlement on Cumberland Island. It was later rebuilt in the 1930’s. This small, one-room church on the north end of Cumberland Island is where John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette were married on September 21, 1996.
