Description
The house contained the front range light that sat on a brass stand in a small dormer window. The rear range light tower sat behine the house. The synchronized lights guided ships into the Savannah River Channel from 1883 to 1922. The lighthouse has been relocated several times due to beach erosion along the shoreline. The small building that stored the kerosene for the light is now the Silver Dew Winery.
